4 Tips To Create The Perfect Wispy Lash Set

by Sebrena Krywulak

Ah, the elusive wispy lash set. You know - the one that makes strangers stop and ask “where do you get your lashes done?!” but takes mad skill and precision to create.

If you're a lash artist, you might know the struggle of trying to achieve the perfect wispy set. It's not just about applying lashes willy-nilly and hoping for the best. It's about technique, placement, and mapping.

We’re here to share the top 4 tips you’ll need to create the perfect wispy lash set. So sit back, grab your tweezers, and get ready to transform your clients' eyes into works of art.

Super Bonder is your BFF

Apply our Get a Grip Super Bonder to a microstick and swipe across the lashes on the strip to create the perfect spikes. Once you do this, run your mascara wand through the lashes for thinner and more delicate spikes, instead of 'chunks' of lashes for the lash set!

What Diameter Should I Use?

You can use all different diameter lashes to make your spikes. You can create both a gentle wisp or a bolder spike depending on the diameter you choose!
Our personal favorite is 0.05s. The thin diameter allows you to create a more customized set. Using a 0.05 diameter is gentle on the natural lash and gives you a lot of choice in how thick of a spike you'd like to create.

Using a thinner diameter lash like 0.03 or 0.05 is how you will save on the weight of the lashes. Remember that you will need to increase your length by 3mm or longer than your middle and bottom layers to have your spikes appear visible in your mapping.

Better on Top

Your spikes will be the most visible when placed on the top layer of lashes! Start by applying all your spikes to the top layer, then tape back your spikes (our Pro Tape is the perfect tool for the job), and apply your middle layer fans. Repeat for the bottom layer.

Curls for the Girls

If you want an even more advanced mapping, you can use different curls! C curl mixed with M or D creates such a gorgeous texture! Use different lash lengths and curls to create volume and dimension. Mixing shorter and longer lashes can create a more natural-looking set, while using a variety of curls can create texture and depth.

There you have it! With these simple steps, you can create the perfect wispy eyelash extension set that’s sure to keep your clients coming back for more. Try out these tips and let us know how your sets turn out!
