by Sebrena Krywulak

We’re no dummies – we know there are sooooo many lash companies and courses out there! Choosing the right course for you can feel overwhelming. Afterall, there are so many to choose from. Is lash training really worth it? It depends! We’re dishing the deets about what makes a good lash course and what you should look for when shopping around for your lash training.

Small Class Sizes

Learning a new skill takes time and practice – especially when it comes to a career where you use your fine motor skills. You will need a lot of 1 on 1 with your educator! A small class will allow for instant correction, and valuable real-time feedback from your educator. A small class means you won’t sit around wasting your time waiting for your educator to come and help you! You pay a lot of money for lash training and you should be receiving the best possible education.

Successful Past Students

Does the company you’re looking at taking your lash training with actually have successful past students?! Where are their students now and how long have they stayed in the industry?! Do their students have full books and returning clientele? Are their students award winning lash artists? This will tell you a lot about their training!

What certifications and/or awards does your educator have?

Unfortunately, the lash industry is not regulated. That means that anyone can take your money and “teach” you how to be a lash artist. Do your research on the company you want take your lash training with! How long have they been in business and do they have previous student testimonials or reviews you can read? Is your educator certified? How many certificates do they have, and is their education current? The lash industry is constantly changing + improving! It is important to keep up to date on new trends and ways of doing things. Is your educator still active in the lash industry? You know what they say – if you don’t use it – you lose it! You’ll want to be trained by someone who is active in the industry.

What kind of support is offered after your training is completed?

The LAST thing you want is to spend thousands of dollars on a lash course just to be left high and dry! When you learn a new skill, you’ll need help. Find a company for your lash training that will allow you to ask questions if you need help. Will they provide you with advice or support to build your business? It takes a village to raise a lash artist! 😉

At the end of the day, it comes down to doing your research! Look for a reputable lash education company, and ask a lot of questions. Find a company that holds similar values to you, and truly cares about seeing their students become successful industry leaders!
