Sebrena from Lash Line smiling

Lash Line's Wonder Woman - Sebrena Krywulak

by Megana Ramaswami

"She Believed She Could -- So She Did"

This quote sums up our Director of Operations, Sebrena! She is an organized, driven, reliable, go-getter who has an incredible work ethic. Whether she's working within Lash Line or chasing after her two toddlers, she's constantly working hard. The joke within our team is that she's part robot because we sometimes struggle to keep up to her!

Sebrena is Lash Line's Team Feature this week + we can't wait for you to get to know her better. She is incredibly focused, hard working and always a positive light to our entire team.

Keep Reading to see the Q+A session we had with Sebrena. We know you'll find her as hilarious and inspiring as we do!

What is your favorite part of your job?

I am so passionate about customer service. I want everyone to have a positive experience when they make a purchase or have any interaction with Lash Line. I also do a lot of copywriting for social media, the blog, and newsletters and I love using writing to convey Lash Line's brand and personality.

What other careers did you have before working at Lash Line?

I have been working since I was 10 or 11. I had a paper route for years, and when I was in high school I worked at Tim Horton's. I worked at the University of Alberta farm working with chickens for a while before starting hair school!

I went to hair school in Edmonton and worked in a salon for about 6 years in Calgary and Edmonton. I also taught students in the apprenticeship program for about a year while still working at the salon.

I switched careers in 2011 and became a flight attendant until 2017 when I had my first baby! I decided to resign from my job (which I loved) to stay home and raise my babies.

How did you get your start at Lash Line?

After my second son was born in 2019 I got the itch to do something for myself. I wanted a part time job where I could earn a little extra fun money and where I could get out of the house for a few hours a week. Jessi and I have been friends for 10+ years - so when I saw an advertisement that Lash Line was hiring for a part time position, I messaged Jessi and told her I was interested if they wanted to hire for evenings and weekends. She asked if I was serious and laughed. She said she would never mix business and friendship. I said I respected that and we left it at that!

I began a little side hustle helping people to get organized. Jessi asked if I would come and help her organize her home to which I happily agreed! While organizing some business paperwork for her she said "You would actually make a great assistant".  After a lot of convincing, she hired me on contract to get Lash Line's warehouse organized. I asked for more responsibility and was turned down a few times - but Cara and Jessi finally asked me to be a part of the Lash Line team! I'm so glad they did. That was a very important lesson for me - if you never ask the answer is always no. I had to ask a few times, but this couldn't be a more perfect fit for me and my family!

If you could have any super power what would it be?

Teleportation hands down! I think this would be every moms choice! (You would never be late again! Haha)!

What are 3 words you would use to describe yourself?

Organized, Driven and Funny!

How do you stay productive and motivated working from home?

I am very self motivated. If anyone knows me they would say I never sit down. I start every day by making my bed - it sounds silly but once you accomplish one task you're more likely to go and accomplish more!

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Lately I'm an early bird (I have my kids to thank for that). They get up between 5-6 and I try to go to bed by 10:30. However, I am known to enjoy a wild night out once in a while ;) (although non-existent now thanks to Covid).

What is your favorite TV show or movie?

I don't have a ton of time for movies and TV - but I am a sucker for reality TV. I love Big Brother. I also love old school movies (especially thrillers) - Fatal Attraction is in my top 5!

What is something people don't know about you?

I am a published author (sort of haha)! I wrote a poem that I entered into a contest and it was published in book!

Thanks for reading Sebrena's Q+A. We hope you enjoyed getting to know her a little better!
